When Travis Kelce moved into a more secure home after sparking a romance with Taylor Swift, fans speculated that he did so due to safety concerns. His brother, Jason, has now confirmed that was the case.

During an appearance on The Big Podcast With Shaq Monday, Jason Kelce spoke out about the “drawbacks” of climbing a few rungs on the ladder of celebrity.
“Travis knows way more than I do, he had to completely move out of his house,” Jason said. “People were just staying by his house. And the first day he moved into the new house … [in] a gated community, somebody knocks on the back window of the house.”
Though both Jason and Travis are NFL stars and therefore certified celebs in their own right, they found themselves under a brighter spotlight after Travis took his romance with Taylor Swift public.
“We’ve always been big in the football world, Travis especially,” Jason continued. “The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that’s a whole different level. It’s a new demographic that wasn’t there before.”
In October 2023, just one month after bringing his relationship with Taylor Swift to the public eye, Travis left his relatively humble $995,000 home behind. After realizing how accessible he was to paparazzi and overzealous Swifties, he knew he needed more privacy.
Kelce found this privacy in a $6 million Kansas City mansion, this one in a gated community.

Though dating a megastar like Taylor Swift comes with its disadvantages, Travis Kelce reportedly couldn’t be happier with his new girl. Following the Chiefs victory at Super Bowl LVIII, a source close to the couple gave details about the big night, as well as their relationship overall.
“It was the most thrilling experience,” the insider told People. “She’s loved attending all the games, but this was of course on another level. They partied and celebrated all night. It’s been the best few months for them.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce began seeing each other in July of 2023, after the “Karma” singer learned of Kelce’s failed attempt to gift her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at her Kansas City show.
Reportedly still going strong, the couple is now “making plans for the summer and are excited to travel together in Europe when Taylor takes her tour there,” the insider said.
