The video appears to be a throwback from when she was filming the newly released movie We Live In Time. In the film, Pugh’s character Almut forms a deep, romantic relationship with Tobias, played by Andrew Garfield. Almut eventually gets diagnosed with cancer, which explains Pugh’s shaved head in the video.
The caption on her Instagram post reads, “We Live In Time is premiering right now in London at LFF. And as I curate a special carousel I wanted to share this which I JUST found. This was literally the first time I saw it and Chessie and I realized I forgot to tell my family.”
Some fans praised the actress for her look. One fan commented, “Flo how do you look stunning in every hairstyle that’s simply not fair.”
Another fan wrote, “it suits YOU SOOO WELL Florence ur my crush.”
While the actress received thousands of positive comments, there were of course some fans who felt otherwise. One comment read, “I love Florence the beautiful female with long hair, please don’t change.”
The film, We Live In Time, was released in theaters on October 11th throughout the US. The romantic drama created a lot of buzz even before its release but is currently receiving mixed reviews.
Florence Pugh Responds To A Fan With A Similar Experience
According to the Daily Mail, Pugh has recently responded to a fan who related to the film on a very personal level. The fan had initially written to Pugh, “My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer when I was two, given six months to live. She stuck it out through four years of chemo and drugs and treatment to give me a chance at remembering her, and she passed when I was six.”
She continued, “I saw lots of promo for the film bc I love you both, but I wasn’t sure I’d be able to watch due to the direct parallels to my own trauma – I went on my day off on Friday, watched it in a fully empty theater with my mom’s stuffed animal and a box of tissues, and god I’m so glad I did.”
The fan thanks Florence for the film, saying that she “can’t express how much this film means to me.” Pugh sent a sweet response to the fan in return. Part of the response reads, “Hello Sophie. Florence here. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write your heart here in the comments.”
She finishes the reply with, “To read just how much it meant to you is not only a privilege to hear, but feels like a gift knowing that it’s helped in some way. Thank you for sharing your story. I appreciate your time both in watching the movie and in writing me here.”
