On April 27, Mica, 30, was found dead in Lumber River State Park in North Carolina. Police ruled the cause of death to be suicide due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, friends, family, and now much of the internet believe there’s more to the story.
Mica’s husband, John-Paul Miller, 44, is a pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach — and many are accusing him of playing a major role in Mica’s death. In fact, Mica served John-Paul divorce papers just days before she died.
Furthermore, the pastor apparently wrote a disturbing emails to Mica years before her death. “When someone hurts me, I try to hurt them back rather than forgive,” the pastor wrote to his wife in November 2022. “Instead of me forgiving you.. I just attack and try to cause pain.”
This comes from an affidavit filed by Mica’s brother, Nathaniel Francis, on May 2.
John-Paul was also accused of grooming Mica for years before they got married, as well as cheating on his first wife with minors. Additionally, Mica kept a journal before her death, detailing her husband’s ongoing abuse.
Throughout their marriage, John-Paul claimed Mica struggled with bipolar disorder, which “led to paranoid episodes and self-destructive behavior.”
He also allegedly had her hospitalized against her will in February 2023, stating that she wasn’t taking her medication. However, according to her father, Mica really only took one pill instead of two, which was allowed.
FBI Opens Investigation Amid Mica Miller’s Death
Those who know the pastor describe him as a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” and a “false prophet.”
Additionally, according to Mica’s letter in court documents obtained by NewsNation: “Since the day we became husband and wife, I have been abused in every way I can think of emotionally, sexually, spiritually, financially and physically.”
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office has been in charge of Mica’s case. On Monday, they released a statement revealing they have been working with federal authorities “since the early stages of the Mica Miller investigation.”
“Based on the information gathered during the investigation and jurisdiction reasons, the Sheriff’s Office has requested the assistance of both agencies [U.S. Attorney’s Office and FBI],” the statement read.
This comes after Mica’s sister, Sierra Francis, allegedly called the FBI’s North Carolina office on Friday. Apparently, they claimed the bureau was not involved in her case.
