Elon Musk is refusing to go out in public following the assassination of conservative pundit and Trump ally Charlie Kirk.

During his recent appearance on The Katie Miller podcast, Musk spoke about how Kirk’s death has significantly impacted his everyday life.
“These days… particularly in light of Charlie Kirk’s murder, there are serious security issues,” Elon Musk explained. “It’s not that I don’t want to, I simply can’t [go out in public].”
Musk also pointed out that Kirk’s death “reinforced the severity of the situation where life is on hardcore mode.”
“You make one mistake, and you’re dead,” the billionaire stated.

While speaking to Utah Valley University students during his America Come Back Tour stop, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while speaking about mass shootings. Although he was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, the Turning Point USA founder passed away. He was 31 years old.
The shooting suspect, identified as Utah resident Tyler Robinson, was arrested a little over 24 hours later.
Elon Musk Previously Paid Tribute to Charlie Kirk
Following the news that Charlie Kirk was killed, Elon Musk took to X to pay tribute to the late MAGA activist.
“I know you are resting in peace, Charlie,” Musk wrote with a video of Kirk being interviewed. “Still can’t believe this happened. Your member lives strong.”
Despite his security fears, Musk attended Kirk’s memorial service in Arizona.
Along with Musk, other public figures have grown concerned over their safety following Kirk’s death.
In November, Barstool’s Dave Portnoy admitted his own safety worries.
“I’m far more aware of it, for the first time ever,” he explained. “I had security at my house, like 24/7. You know, you start getting these yahoos on social media, and there’s like yahoos.
Portnoy also stated, “I don’t even know what they’re saying, but they start talking about me, trying to get my name because they’re just in this endless cycle of needing to stay in the news, but they start talking about me, mention my name, they’ll open the floodgates on just lunatics, and it only takes one, so yeah I had security at my house 24/7.”
