Donna Kelce is opening up about her son Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift and why it’s still going strong. According to Donna, the two have a lot in common.
“Time will tell,” Donna Kelce said on the May 8 episode of The Martha Stewart Podcast, “But I know that they’re both friendly. They’re both generous — They’re both loving. They’re both caring individuals.”
Likewise, Donna has been a fan of Swift and supported her son’s girlfriend. She’s praised Swift and her musical accomplishments, having recently listened to her new album The Tortured Poet’s Department. She said, “I listened to the whole album. And I listened to it all morning long when it was released.”
“I was just very impressed,” she continued. “She is a very talented woman, and I think it is probably her best work.”
For the most part, Donna has tried to avoid talking about Swift and her son Travis in the media. She doesn’t want to put added pressure on them. “It’s fairly new, so I don’t like to talk about it,” she said. “It’s just one of those things where you know, obviously everybody saw me. I was in the boxes with her and it’s just another thing that’s amped up my life.”

However, she’s appreciated how Swifties have truly embraced her as one of their own. She said the support and attention is nice. “Everybody that’s come up to me has been very gracious, very supportive, and they tell me that they love my boys,” she said. “What mom doesn’t want to hear that?”
However, she finds the renewed media attention on her to be a bit ridiculous. “It’s kind of funny that they’re following an old lady,” she joked. “But it’s obviously because of my boys and who they know, so I totally understand the glamour about it, but I’m just a regular mom like everybody else.”
Meanwhile, Travis Kelce’s father also shared his thoughts on Swift, telling Today, “Listening to that, you get a much better sense of who this young woman is, as opposed to the social media blurbs and the gossip magazines,” he said. “That’s all celebrity stuff. This is more the real Taylor.”
However, he oddly forgot who Swift was when he saw her. “And Taylor comes in, walks in with a security guard and I look at her… and I had my girlfriend with me and I mention to Maureen, ‘Oh, my god, I know this kid but I don’t know what her name is.’ Geez, you know, like a real idiot,” Ed Kelce said.
