Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly didn’t know Casandra “Cassie” Ventura had the hotel surveillance footage of him assaulting her in 2016.

Following the release of the graphic video by CNN last week, Combs’ former head of security, Roger Bonds, appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
During the interview, Bonds shared his insights on the incident and gave his opinion on the veteran rapper’s apology video.
“He knew those cameras was there, you know? But of course, as we heard, he came back to the hotel, and he paid to get the footage — but didn’t know, which Cassie said inside her complaint, that they gave her a copy of the footage also,” Bonds explained.
In a scathing civil lawsuit filed by Ventura in November 2023 and swiftly settled, the singer claimed that Combs paid the InterContinental Hotel $50,000 for the newly uncovered hallway footage.
Diddy’s Former Bodyguard Weighs in on His Apology Video Following the Cassie Assault Footage Leak
In an Instagram video posted on May 19, Combs issued an apology, taking “full responsibility” for his “inexcusable” actions. However, Bonds remains uncertain about his sincerity.
“When you go through life just paying your way out, I really feel like he wasn’t sorry about that,” Diddy’s former bodyguard reasoned. “Yeah, he might be sorry now. He’s sorry that he got caught.”
“If that was a one-time incident, then I would say accept his apology. But I think, in that apology, he said what he thought people wanted to hear,” Bonds added.
Indeed, many Piers Morgan Uncensored viewers agreed with Roger Bond’s assessment of Diddy’s apology following the Cassie assault footage leak.
“Anytime someone starts off an apology by playing victim, stop listening,” one viewer wrote in the YouTube comments for the interview. “unfortunately his apology got 10 times longer air time than his attack on that poor girl,” a second fan added. ‘“I take full responsibility”’. Who else is responsible?”, a third watcher wrote.
Diddy issued his apology through a video on Instagram, accompanied by the caption, “I’m truly sorry.”
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life,” the veteran rapper and mogul began. “Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f—ed up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” Diddy continued.
“Disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.” Diddy added that he, “sought out professional help, going to therapy, going to rehab,” Combs continued.
“I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to be a better man. Each and every day,” Combs explained.
He concluded by saying he is “not asking for forgiveness” but is “truly sorry.”
