What has Lady Gaga been up to?
Though it’s been four years since her most recent studio album, Joanne, Gaga has kept herself busy. In 2018, we saw her take to the silver screen alongside Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born, winning several Grammy awards for her work on the official soundtrack. Last year, she announced her vegan makeup line, Haus Laboratories, and now, she’s currently completing her Las Vegas residency at the MGM Park Theater.
Despite the excitement surrounding her various projects, fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of Gaga’s music for quite a while now — yet the announcement of a new single is hardly a surprise. When an alleged demo of “Stupid Love” unexpectedly leaked last month, social media had a bit of a meltdown, to say the least.
Mother Monster herself even had to step in, tweeting amidst all the chaos and subtly addressing the leak:
Regardless of the leak, Gaga herself has been teasing new music for the past few months, accompanying several of her tweets with the hashtag #LG6 to indicate that she’s been hard at work preparing for her sixth studio album.
The Little Monsters are detectives
While many today were simply celebrating the official announcement of Gaga’s return, her die-hard fans spotted something intriguing amongst the promotional imagery for “Stupid Love.”
On the far right side of the promo graphic, the word “CHROMATICA” appears to be written in a glossy pink font:
The word is repeated yet again on the left side of the image, under the copyright information:
Many fans have already begun to rally around this potential album name, trending #Chromatica alongside #StupidLove on Twitter. And we must admit, the name Chromatica does seem very fitting for Gaga’s style, as one Twitter user pointed out.
Though no official announcement has been made regarding the title of the sixth Lady Gaga studio album, the Little Monsters are in agreement: Chromatica seems like a very strong candidate!
