McFarr was Pratt’s stunt double for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and two Jurassic World movies, meaning the actor spent quite some time working with him. Pratt shared he was “devastated” by the news of McFarr’s passing.
On Instagram, Pratt posted a story with a heartfelt and emotional message.
“Devastated to hear about the loss of my friend and former stunt double,” he wrote. “We did several movies together. We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set. I’ll never forget his toughness.”
Pratt also recalled specific memories from set, including a “nasty” injury that happened while filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
“I remember he took a nasty shot to the head (in the title sequence of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and got several staples in his head – he came right back to work ready to go again,” Pratt said. “He was an absolute stud. He was always a gentleman and professional.”
The actor then sent his condolences to McFarr’s loved ones.
“He’ll be missed,” he added. “My prayers go out to his friends and family, especially his daughter.”
On the next few slides, Pratt shared photos of the two working together, looking nearly identical.
