It’s safe to say that Cher is not happy about her 78th birthday coming up. The singer has always marched to the beat of her own drum. However, she’s not looking forward to getting older.
The icon revealed hilarious and also kind of sad plans for her 78th birthday. “[I’ll be] putting my pillow over my head and screaming,” Cher told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m putting my head under the bed.”
She also took to social media to complain about getting old. She said that she doesn’t feel her age and wants to know when she’s supposed to.
Ok, Will Someone 🙏🏼 PLEASE Tell me…..When Will I Feel OLD👶🏻,” she wrote at the time. “This is ridiculous.”
“I keep hearing these numbers, but I Honestly can’t understand them. WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH #’s⁉️ I’m dyslexic & #’s Are hard 4 me,” Cher added.
Cher Rages Against Aging Ahead of 78th Birthday
For her last birthday, she took to social media thanking fans for their support over the years. “Thank u for staying, I know it’s been hard. Got to go work out. Twitter is harder for me than TweetBot.”
Previously, she expressed her displeasure for getting old. She said that she isn’t friends with time or aging. She said, “Pisses me — It pisses the f–k out of me .… It just is, like, what is this?!”
She said that she isn’t like her mother in that regard. “No!” she said. “My mother [Georgia Holt] didn’t mind, but I do. I hate it… I’d give anything to be 70 again!”
Speaking with The Guardian in 2020, she described aging as not fun.“What, I’m going to say I like it? No, I don’t. Any woman who is honest will say it’s not as much fun,” Cher said. “When I was working on the road, we used to work two shows a night and then go out dancing all night long.”
“It’s like we’ve got to rest because you’ve got another night,” she continued. “Also, I don’t like going out now because everybody’s got a camera and it’s not safe. People rush you, and you don’t know if they’re going to kill you or take your picture. Either way, I don’t like it.”
