Sources told TMZ that Britney is doing worse now than she was during her conservatorship. Allegedly, she is experiencing extreme and “shocking” mood swings and has no supervision at this time. In fact, she appears both “isolated” and “unstable.”
“She had lots of freedom in the conservatorship and the restrictions were there to protect her,” one source said. “She’s not protected anymore.”
According to The New York Times, “Ms. Spears’s 13-year-long conservatorship, which began in 2008 after a series of public breakdowns, was terminated in 2021.”
“Her father, who served as one of her conservators for its duration, had been seeking court approval for more than $2 million in fees to multiple law firms he had hired in that capacity. He had also sought payment of his current lawyer’s ongoing legal bill.”
Jamie resigned as Britney’s personal conservator in 2019. His lawyer, Alex M. Weingarten, stated that he could not discuss the confidential settlement, but revealed that both parties resolved their issues.
“Jamie is thrilled all this is over,” Mr. Weingarten stated. “He regrets the irresponsible and specious allegations made against him in public.”
On Friday, Mr. Rosengart — Britney’s lawyer — deemed Britney a “brilliant and brave artist of historic and epic proportion.”
“As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court in this matter,” the statement concluded.
Britney Spears Allegedly in Danger of Going Broke After Conservatorship
Though her lawyer stated that Britney’s “wish for freedom is now truly complete,” sources say she has received “no justice” since her conservatorship ended — especially when it comes to her finances.
According to TMZ, Britney has also been excessively spending her money — to the point where she’s at the risk of going broke. Sources revealed that she’s been throwing away millions of dollars on luxurious trips.
“She cannot afford this,” one source said. “She had $60 million when the conservatorship ended, and she’s now where the conservatorship started — in danger of going broke.”
Not only has she spent money on travel accommodations, but she also apparently spent over $4 million on her attorney, Mathew Rosengart. Furthermore, she ended up covering her father’s, Jamie Spears’s, legal fees while getting nothing from him in return.
Whether she truly got her happy ending is up for debate, as it appears she is continuing to struggle in the aftermath of her conservatorship and its legal fees.
