A Michigan man who has a suspended license called into court via video — while driving.

A hilarious clip featuring a man who video-called into his own court hearing is going viral. The catcher? He was driving (with a suspended license) while calling in — which was the reason for the hearing in the first place.
According to court records, Corey Harris, 44, was charged with driving with a suspended license in October 2023. On May 15, Harris attended the hearing virtually while driving to a doctor’s appointment.
“Mr. Harris, are you driving?” Judge Cedric Simpson asked.
“Actually, I’m pulling into my doctor’s office … so just give me one second. I’m parking right now.”
Once he was parked and the hearing began, Harris’s assistant public defender spoke with intent.
“Your honor, we are respectfully requesting an adjournment in this matter of possibly three to four weeks before it would allow it,” she said.

This is the funniest video I've seen in a long time.
Judge Cedric Simpson can be seen dumbfounded after defendant Corey Harris dialed into the meeting from his car.

Judge Simpson paused in confusion. “Okay, so maybe I don’t understand something,” he said. “This is a driving while license is suspended?”
“That is correct, your honor,” the public defender said. “And he was just driving, and he didn’t have a license.”

Everyone immediately went silent, with Harris appearing caught off-guard when realizing what he had done. Meanwhile, Harris’s public defender tried to brush it off and continue to push for the adjournment.
“Those were the charges, your honor, yes,” she said.
“No, I’m looking at his record,” Judge Simpson insisted. “He doesn’t have a license. He’s suspended and he’s just driving.”
“That is correct, your honor,”
There was then a lengthy pause — so long, in fact, that Harris piped up and said, “Hello?” to try to get someone to speak.
“I don’t even know why he would do that,” Judge Simpson said in shock. “So, defendant’s bond is revoked in this matter. Defendant is to turn himself in to the Washtenaw County jail by 6 p.m. today. Failure to turn himself in will result in a bench warrant with no bond.”
The video ends with Harris tipping his head back and saying, “Oh my God,” clearly frustrated with himself.
