Although Prince Harry sent well wishes to Kate Middleton amid her cancer battle, the Princess of Wales allegedly doesn’t want anything to do with her brother-in-law.

Us Weekly reported earlier this month that before Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis, her brother-in-law didn’t reach out to her during the worldwide confusion about her whereabouts.
Royal expert Christopher Andersen gave insight into Kate Middleton and Prince Harry’s rocky relationship. “I think there was once a relationship, a friendship, a very close one between Harry and Kate,” he said.
“I’m sure he’s concerned about her as well, but I know that she wants to have nothing to do with [him and Meghan Markle].”
Andersen also stated that Kate Middleton may not want to amend her relationship with Prince Harry at this time due to her having “her own problems.”
The author noted he doesn’t think Prince Harry has extended an olive branch. “My understanding is he hasn’t,” Andersen continued. “And it is a stalemate. They’re both on opposite sides of this wall and nobody has the courage to leap over it and really make an honest attempt.”
Andersen further pointed out that Prince Harry hasn’t been received well by the rest of his family since he and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020.
“Every time he’s gone there, he’s been given the cold shoulder,” Andersen said. “And he’s aware of that. I think he fears it’ll just be the same situation all over.”
However, since Andersen’s interview with Us Weekly, Markle stepped in and reportedly attempted to reach out to Kate Middleton. It was reported that she tried going through the “back channels” to speak to her sister-in-law. She was genuinely concerned about Middleton’s health and well-being.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Were Among Those Wishing Kate Middleton Well Wishes Amid Cancer Battle
Shortly after Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issued a statement.
In a statement provided to PEOPLE, Harry and Meghan wrote, “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
In a video released on X (formerly Twitter), Kate Middleton announced her diagnosis. She revealed that following her abdominal surgery in mid-January, post-operative tests discovered cancer had been present. She said she was in the early stages of a course of preventative chemotherapy.
A Royal Family source told PEOPLE that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were left in the dark about Kate Middleton’s surgery and recovery.
“They are aware of everything that goes on back in England,” the insider pointed out. “But are being left out of any details regarding Kate. There is clearly no trust.”
Prince Harry was last in the UK last month after his own father’s cancer diagnosis.
