Justin Theroux did not stay in a guest house at the Bel Air home he shared with Jennifer Aniston in the months leading up to their split, despite a false report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s simply not true.

An unreliable source tells Us Weekly that the actor “would typically spend most of his time in the guest house” whenever he was in Los Angeles staying with Aniston. The questionable insider adds, “He would play music, hang out and, in the final months of their marriage, would end up sleeping in the guest house.” The magazine’s misinformed tipster further maintains that Theroux “felt more comfortable [in the guest house] than in the main house with Jen,” which bothered the actress.
There’s one major problem, however, with the outlet’s article: Gossip Cop is told on background by a source close to the couple that “there is no guest house” at the Bel Air home they shared. Oddly enough, the publication’s article includes Aniston and Theroux’s official split statement, which states, “Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative.” This is an example of that “fictional narrative.”
It’s no secret that Theroux spent most of his time at the New York City apartment he shared with Aniston while she was living at their L.A. home, but the actor didn’t sleep in a guest house when he was on the West Coast. Additionally, Aniston’s Los Angeles home was just featured in Architectural Digest, and there’s a reason the article didn’t have a single word or photo about the supposed guest house. That’s because, once again, there is no real “guest house” on her property.
Granted, this inaccurate story regarding Aniston and Theroux’s breakup isn’t as outrageous as many of the other ones we’ve corrected. Naturally, Brad Pitt has been dragged into the narrative, with various outlets alleging that the actress has been leaning on her ex-husband in the wake of her split. Another publication wrongly reported that Aniston had turned to former co-star Gerard Butler for support shortly before her marriage ended.
Meanwhile, a number of tabloids have incorrectly claimed that “other women” were involved in Aniston and Theroux’s separation, which wasn’t the case. One outlet wrongly alleged that the actor was cheating on Aniston with his ex-girlfriend Heidi Bivens. Another outlet falsely claimed that the former “Friends” star was upset about Theroux supposedly “cuddling” with Naomi Watts at an event in 2017. This latest article involving a nonexistent “guest house” is less scandalous, but equally untrue.
