Not long after referring to Taylor Swift as an “a—hole” at the 2024 Golden Globes, Emma Stone ultimately regrets making the comment.

Stone presented with Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture Award. When was asked about Swift giving her support during the big event, Stone made the remark.
“What an a–hole, am I right?” she joked. “I’ve known her for almost 20 years, so I’m very happy she was there. She was also nominated tonight, so I’m very happy she was there — but what an a–hole.”
Although it was a funny reaction, Emma Stone stated she would not be joking about Taylor Swift again. “I definitely won’t make a joke like that again,” she explained during an interview with Variety alongside Poor Things co-star Yorgos Lanthimos. “Because I saw headlines that really pulled it out of context.”
She then pointed to herself and declared, “What a dope.”
Emma Stone Previously Stated She Was ‘Thankful’ That Taylor Swift Hooked Her Up With Eras Tour Tickets
Last summer, Emma Stone couldn’t help but gush about Taylor Swift hooking her up with Eras Tour tickets.
“The concert was pretty amazing,” Stone told Vanity Fair in June 2023. “I was lucky ’cause we’ve been friends for a really long time. I’ve known her since we were 17 and 18, so she hooked me up, which was very nice ’cause I know those tickets are impossible to get.”
Emma Stone also said that Taylor Swift is a wonderful friend. “She blows my mind. I mean, the amount of sheer stamina to do three and a half hours and perform 44 songs and to maintain the extreme energy of the audience—I’ve never seen anything like it.”
When asked if she would ever consider doing a duet alongside Swift, Stone immediately said no. “I can’t sing, like, for a massive stadium. Let’s not even go down that road. She has insane talent—I could never do what she does.”
Emma Stone recently shared during her appearance on The Graham Norton Show she has seen the Eras Tour three times so far.
“Mandy Moore, who was the choreographer of La La Land, was [Taylor’s] choreographer for the tour,” Stone explained. “So it was a bunch of lovely things all come together, and it was incredible to see.”
Also speaking about first meeting Swift, Stone said they met at the Young Hollywood Awards. “We just kept in touch ever since and became great friends.”
