Us Weekly reports in his 2018 track Killshot, Eminem calls out Diddy for putting a hit on Tupac Shakur in the mid-90s. “Kells, the day you put out a hit’s the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed, ah,” Eminem raps in the song.
Tupac was murdered during the infamous 1996 drive-by shooting. At the time of the famous rapper’s death, Diddy was managing his rival, Notorious B.I.G. Less than six months after Tupac’s death, Notorious B.I.G. was killed in a drive-by shooting.
Following the release of Killshot, Diddy appeared on Joe Budden’s YouTube series to discuss the claims.
As he spoke about the song, Diddy declared that Eminem was “handled” as they had a private conversation about the claims. “He said, ‘There’s nothing to say about it,’” Diddy said. “It’s in my hands. He wild.”
Eminem eventually stated the lyrics were a joke. The clip of the Diddy’s interview has since been deleted. Last fall Keefe D was arrested and charged with allegedly providing the gun used in Tupac’s infamous death.
Diddy is currently the key subject in a federal sex trafficking investigation. Following a lawsuit filed by former employee Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones. According to legal documents, Jones accused Combs of sexually harassing, drugging, and threatening him while he was an employee from Sept. 2022 to Nov. 2023.
Jones also claimed that Combs regularly hosted “sex-trafficking parties” with underage women. Combs’ legal team stated the lawsuit contains “reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not” occur.
Diddy’s properties were raided by federal agents last month as a result of the claims.
Eminem Previously Apologized for a Separate Track Dissing Diddy’s TV Station Revolt
In 2020, Eminem’s single dissing Diddy’s TV station revolt surfaced. In the track, the rapper sang, “F— Revolt, y’all are like a f—ed up remote, now I get it why our button’s broke.
According to Metro, Rovolt issued a statement claiming that Eminem was a “guest” in hip-hop. The company pointed out that the leaked song is a “distraction” from the Black Lives Matter protests that were taking place around the same time.
Eminem quickly responded to the statement by posting on X (formerly Twitter) that he agreed the track was an unnecessary distraction.
“I never meant for that verse to be heard,” he admitted. “I was heated in the moment and thought better of it and decided to pull it back.”
Eminem also gave an insight as to why the track was leaked, to begin with. “Stuff that I never intended to release continues to leak from the huge WeTransfer hack.”
The rapper went on to add that he has no issues with Diddy’s Revolt. “I’d actually welcome the opportunity to work with them on positive things and turn this in a different direction.”
