According to TMZ, America’s Best stores received a message last week to remove all Sean Johns from the frame boards. The eyewear was then supposed to be replaced by frames at an appropriate price point from understock. Stores were then to wait for instructions from the company on what to do with the eyewear.
It remains unclear what America’s Best is planning to do with the unsold Diddy eyewear. The company nor Diddy have yet to make a statement about the recent development.
Sources close to the situation told the media outlet that Ameirca’s Best started pulling the eyewear online last month. The company seemed to up the speed of the eyewear removal after CNN released the surveillance video.
In the video, Diddy is seen beating Ventura in a hallway of a hotel while wearing just a towel. He kicked her and threw items at her until someone walked out of the elevator.
Diddy Recently Apologized For His Actions in the Hotel Surveillance Video
After the video dominated headlines, the rapper took to Instagram to apologize for his actions in the video.
“It’s difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you gotta do that,” he said. “I was f–ked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted.”
He went on to say, “I went and sought out professional help. I’ve been going to therapy, going to rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to being a better man each and every day.”
Diddy added that he was not asking for forgiveness, but he was truly sorry.
Although he apologized, sources allegedly in Diddy’s inner circle say he’s adamant about there being more to the clip’s story. “He’s incensed,” the insider revealed. “Especially about the video. He insists it doesn’t tell the full story about what happened. Not that he’s excusing it, but he says that it’s a selected video.”
Diddy previously denied allegations that he had abused Ventura during their on-and-off relationship. She filed a lawsuit in November 2023, accusing him of assault and rape. However, the lawsuit was settled one day after the filing took place.
