While celebrating a huge milestone, Christie Brinkley took to Instagram to post a series of shirtless selfies for her 70th birthday.
In the daring post, Brinkley is seen all smiles while wearing a bra, athletic leggings, and running shoes. “Looking in the mirror on my 70th birthday and what do I see,” she wrote as a poem. “I’m finally happy with the person looking back at me.”
Christie Brinkley also stated that she’s no longer critical and demanding. “Now I’m grateful and understanding. I’ve put this body [through] it. I’ve broken every bone. In tiny miracles I’m all healed. in my heart and soul I’m home.”
Brinkley further noted that it took 70 years for her to get where she is. “In tears and joy I’ve found my happy,” she went on to add. “So now I’m going to end this poem. Before I get too sappy! Happy Birthday Indeed!”
Prior to making her birthday post, Christie Brinkley shared some snapshots of her tropical adventure with friends. “Jumping into 70 with a boatload of fun and counting my blessings every day,” she wrote. “12 of them are in the last photo!”
Christie Brinkley Previously Shared Her Top Three Tips For ‘Staying Young’
Last fall, Christie Brinkley revealed her top three tips for staying young while on the Tamron Hall Show.
“Three of my favorite tips for staying young are number one: Sunblock,” she declared. “Number two: Eat right—be a vegetarian. And number three: Be curious, be adventurous—that’ll keep you young.”
Christie Brinkley then stated she thinks every woman should declare her age because 69 isn’t what it used to be. “It’s up to us to reshape that number and give it a new image, a makeover.”
While recalling her 30th birthday, Brinkley said she felt magazines treat 30 as if it was a “number to fear.” However, at the time, she felt like she was on top of the world.
“What’s the big deal about 30? What’s the big deal about 40? If you take good care of yourself, and you eat right, and you exercise, and you have a good mental attitude—lots of laughter, lots of curiosity, lots of adventures— that keeps you young.”
Brinkley also stated in an Instagram Story that age is just a state of mind. She just doesn’t think about it. She then added, “I just want to get up and out into every day. I’m gifted!”
