Clark’s impact on the game is already being felt throughout the league. Teams have already begun to switch to bigger venues to host the fever as the ticket demand has increased.
Caitlin Clark Eyeing Lucrative Deal With Nike
The wins continue to pile up for Clark in her basketball career. The former Iowa Hawkeye is getting ready to ink a deal with sneaker giant Nike. And it gets better. She’s rumored to be getting her own signature shoe as part of the endorsement deal, too.
She would join New York Liberty stars Breanna Stewart and Sabrina lonescu as one of three WNBA Players who currently have a signature shoe.
“[Caitlin Clark] is nearing a multiyear, lucrative 8-figure deal with Nike as her shoe company. Under Armour, Adidas, I’m told also made sizable offers,” NBA Insider Shams Charania reported during an episode of “Run it Back.”
Clark has without a doubt put more eyes on an already growing sport over the last two years. But her impact is felt beyond women’s basketball. The men are also starting to take notice of the rising star, too.
Steph Curry Tried To Recruit WNBA Star
Clark has already received high praise from the likes of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. And another NBA All-Star is also beginning to take notice. Per Shams, Stephen Curry and Under Armour tried to poach Clark from Nike and convince her to join his Curry brand.
“Stephen Curry was involved in the Under Armour pitch… but she is not signing there, and she will soon be official with Nike,” Shams added.
You really can’t blame Clark for nixing all her other suitors to sign with an established brand like Nike. They already boast some of the NBA’s top athletes such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Besides the fact that her contract is “above $20 million,” according to Shams. A significant upgrade from her $76,000 WNBA salary in 2024.
“I’m told it’s well beyond $10 million… I think it’s fair to say that it’s above $20 million. Now how above? We’ll see when we get the final numbers, I’m not one to speculate,” he added.
