One person is dead; five others were injured following a mass shooting at an Ohio factory that occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

According to USA Today, the mass shooting occurred at the KDC/ONE warehouse in New Albany, Ohio, at approximately 10:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they discovered one person deceased. They then took five others to nearby hospitals. The conditions of the victims currently remain unknown.
City officials confirmed the incident and revealed that local law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence in Columbus, where they apprehended the suspect, identified as Bruce Reginald Foster III.
Law enforcement further confirmed to USA Today that Foster was an employee at the facility. He worked for several hours before opening fire on fellow employees. He then fled the factory following the mass shooting.
New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones stated the motive remains unclear. He pointed out that there were no reports of confrontations or disputes that preceded the shooting.
Chief Jones further shared that there were 150 employees were at the warehouse at the time of the mass shooting. Investigators recovered a handgun at the scene. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had assisted in tracking its weapon’s history.
“This is a tragedy that, to be honest with you, I never thought we’d see in our community,” Chief Jones explained.
Chief Jones also described the factory mass shooting as a heartbreaking and tragic situation. “Our officers, alongside multiple agencies, responded swiftly to protect lives and secure the scene. We train for situations like this, and while it is something no community ever wants to face, we were prepared to act quickly and effectively. We will continue working to bring this situation to a full resolution,”
U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty Speaks Out Following Factory Mass Shooting
U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty, who represents Columbus, took to social media to speak out about the factory mass shooting.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for our Central Ohio community,” Rep. Beatty shared on X (formerly Twitter). “My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and everyone impacted by the shooting in New Albany.”
She then stated that she was grateful for the “swift response” from first responders. “No one should have to fear for their safety at work. We must continue to stand united as a community against gun violence and the toll it takes on our communities.”
