Rochelle Stewart faces multiple charges, including one count of indecent assault, one count of filing a false police report, and two counts each of providing alcohol to minors and corrupting minors by doing so, per a criminal complaint obtained by local Pittsburgh outlet, WPXI.
The incident happened on Wednesday, January 4, when police responded to a burglary report on Windgap Avenue in Pittsburgh around 9 p.m. However, when officers arrived, they found two boys, aged 12 and 13, who were heavily intoxicated, according to the criminal complaint.
The Boys Were Reportedly Offered Wine and Vodka Before the Woman Allegedly Starting Groping One
The boys were door-knocking on Windgap Avenue, offering to shovel walkways for cash, and Stewart hired them for $5. While shoveling, Stewart reportedly invited them inside for hot chocolate but instead offered wine and vodka, which they accepted and drank.
“The juveniles were speaking in a nonsensical way, exclaiming that a lady had just got them drunk and touched them,” Pittsburgh police stated in their report.
At first, officers struggled to find the caller but eventually identified them as Stewart. She answered the door but didn’t mention the burglary and refused to answer questions.
One of the boys told police that after he became intoxicated, the woman sat beside him. She then placed her leg over his and attempted to touch him inappropriately. It was at this point that both boys tried to leave.
They went back inside after one of them realized he had forgotten his coat. That’s when the police arrived, authorities said.
The woman denied allowing the boys into her home. However, police reported finding the victim’s coat draped over her couch and a half-empty bottle of vodka nearby.
According to officers, one of the boys reportedly recorded the alleged inappropriate incident. They allegedly captured footage of Stewart sitting beside the other boy and rubbing his arm and shoulder.
Police contacted the boys’ mothers, and they were taken home.
Stewart was later booked into the Allegheny County Jail. However, court records obtained by Law & Crime reveal that she posted 10 percent of her $1,000 bail. She was released from custody on Thursday.
She is set to attend a preliminary hearing in court on January 22.
