FBI agents and Los Angeles cops were spotted outside of the actor’s bachelor pad on Sunday. A source told Page Six that “FBI agents were at Affleck’s home to see if he had CCTV footage of a private drone which damaged a super scooper, one of the firefighting aircrafts.”
“Members of the FBI‘s Ground Intercept task force are conducting activity in the area of the Palisades Fire relative to unauthorized drone activity,” a rep for the FBI press relations office told the outlet. “Agents and our local partners may be visible throughout the area, including at various residences, for this reason.”
The private drone collided with a firefighting aircraft on Thursday as it was working to battle the spreading wildfire. CBS News reported that the drone had damaged the aircraft causing FBI agents to conduct an investigation.
The news outlet also reported that there have been at least 40 incidents of unauthorized drone activity in the area.
“When people fly drones near wildfires, fire response agencies often ground their aircraft to avoid the potential for a midair collision,” the FAA wrote. “Delaying airborne response poses a threat to firefighters on the ground, residents, and property in nearby communities, and it can allow wildfires to grow larger.”
Ben Affleck Returned Home After Evacuation
Affleck was seen fleeing his home last week after being forced to evacuate due to the raging Palisades Fire. Photos show the actor driving towards his first ex-wife’s, Jennifer Garner, home following the evacuation. Garner shares the home with their three children, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 12.
Luckily, Affleck’s $20 million home was not damaged in the fires. He was able to return to his house the day after he evacuated.
“Ben’s home is still under evacuation order, but he feels so grateful his property is safe for the time being,” a source told Page Six. “Ben knows many people who unfortunately lost their homes. He has seen a lot of devastation, and it’s beyond tragic. Ben is reaching out to anybody he can to help.”
