In a recent interview with Variety, Grande talked about the possibility of going on tour in 2025 to promote her album Eternal Sunshine.
“I feel so grateful to the acting, and I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life, but I don’t see it coming anytime soon,” the 31-year-old told the outlet.
Wicked‘s sequel is set to drop next year, and that seems to be Grande’s focus for the time being.
“The next few years, hopefully we’ll be exploring different forms of art, and I think acting is feeling like home right now,” she added.
Of course, Grande takes on the role of Glinda the “Good Witch” in both Wicked films, the first of which debuted last month.
“I am appreciative for [my fans’] understanding,” she continued. “I’m so grateful for the ways in which we’ve grown together over this whole journey with Wicked. But music will always be a part of my life.”
However, she might still pull off a live performance here and there in the meantime.
“I’ll perform at my mother’s house,” she joked.
Ariana Grande’s Record Label Shuts Down Rumblings of a 2025 Tour
A few days ago, Grande’s record label addressed speculation on X (formerly Twitter) about a potential 2025 tour after events linked to the singer appeared on Ticketmaster’s website.
“There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all their continued love, support, and excitement,” Republic Records explained at the time.
However, the pop star seems to be itching to get back on stage ASAP.
In July, Grande expressed her desire to go on tour during an appearance on the podcast Shut Up Evan.
“I think it would be a really lovely idea to be able to trickle in some shows in between the two Wicked films,” she explained then. “I think there’s a version of that that exists.”
Maybe after doing the grueling press for Wicked, Grande reconsidered touring with Wicked 2: For Good on the horizon.
Meanwhile, it has been five years since the singer last hit the road for a tour. Grande’s most recent venture was the Sweetener World Tour in 2019, where she showcased tracks from her 2018 album Sweetener alongside hits from her 2019 release thank u, next.
