A little over six months after Tish Cyrus married Prison Break star Dominic Purcell, there are now reports that the couple didn’t have the most conventional start.
During a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Tish revealed the original story of her relationship with Purcell. She revealed she had a longtime crush on the actor and was even given a “hall pass” throughout her 28-year marriage to ex-husband Billy Ray.
Tish Cyrus also stated that David Purcell had sent her a DM on Instagram in 2016. However, she missed it at the time. She ended up messaging him in 2022 right after she filed for divorce from Billy Ray.
“So we go to lunch and make out for three hours,” Tish said about her and Purcell’s first date. She also said they said they loved each other a day later.
However, sources close to the couple told Us Magazine that before Tish and Dominic’s relationship began, Tish’s daughter Noah was romantically linked with the actor first. “Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started pursuing him,” an insider explained. They also pointed out that Tish was aware of the situation.
Us also reported that Noah was noticeably absent from Tish Cyrus and Dominic Purcell’s August 2023 wedding. Fans notably speculated the reason behind Noah’s decision to attend the wedding was due to her taking Billy Ray’s side in the divorce.
But according to the insider, it was because she hadn’t been invited to the event. The source also stated that Miley had armed guards outside of her home that day to keep Noah from attending.

Meanwhile, the source told Us that things between Tish and Noah Cyrus have been more intense due to Dominic Purcell.
“The turmoil between Noah and Tish goes far beyond [what people think],” the insider explained. “Noah is very distraught over Tish stealing Dominic from her.”
Also during her Call Her Daddy appearance, Tish opened up about her relationship with Bily Ray and how she felt “disrespect in every form” in that marriage. However, things with Dominic are significantly different.
“Disrespect just lays it out in so many ways,” Tish revealed during the appearance. “I [didn’t] even know – until I had a new relationship [where] there was so much respect – how much disrespect there was in my marriage before. Honestly, on both our parts.”
Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus share five children. They are Brandy, Trace, Miley, Braison, and Noah.
