Taylor Swift Previously Opened Up About Her Eras Tour Training
While Speaking to Time for its 2023 Person of the Year interview, Taylor Swift spoke about how she prepared for the Eras Tour. Her training included running on the treadmill every day while singing the entire Eras setlist.
“Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs,” she said. “I wanted to get it in my bones. I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.”
Taylor Swift also admitted that learning choreography is not her strong suit. However, while working with choreographer Mandy Moore, Swift said the experience changed her relationship with choreography.
“Somehow [it] got into my brain and figured out exactly how I would think about things,” she continued.
Taylor Swift then added that, unlike her previous tours, she gave up alcohol to prepare more for the Eras Tour. “I stopped drinking for a couple months before the show except for on Grammy night, which was hilarious.”
“I gave myself a fun night for that one Doing that show with a hangover I don’t want to know that world.”
In regards to how she recovers from performances, Swift added, “I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to my bed and eat it there. It’s a dream scenario.”
“I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels. But it’s the most fulfilled I’ve ever felt.”
