Sophia Bush is setting the record straight about the rumors circulating about her being engaged to her girlfriend Ashlyn Harris.

The gossip started when the One Tree Hill alum posted photos with her left hand covered by Harris’ blazer. Bush’s followers immediately assumed that the move was to cover the actress’ left ring finger.
However, in a recent Instagram Story, Sophia Bush slammed the rumors as being just that – rumors. “I hear the interest is being wild? Y’all,” she wrote with a cry-laughing and coffin emoji. “I have no ’news’ for you. But wouldn’t you put your hands all up in her jacket if you could??”
She then did a disclosure that reads, “To be clear you can’t [put your hands all up in her jacket] because boundaries, but I’ll continue to do it for you because I’m just generous like that.”
Sophia Bush also shared the original photo again. “I just wanna squeeeeeeeeeeze her,” the actress gushed. “I get that it’s new for y’all to see me so happy and so embodied. It’s new for me too. How lucky am I.”
Bush went on to share a picture of her left hand and wrote, “I hope TikTok can relax now. Travel on, friends.”
Bush and Harris were first romantically linked in late 2023 after they both filed for divorce. Harris’ ex, Ali Krieger previously implied that the former U.S. Women’s Soccer player had cheated on her with Bush. However, Harris has since denied any cheating occurred.
Meanwhile, Sophia Bush’s ex-husband, Grant Hughes, has publicly stated he just wants the actress to be happy.
Sophia Bush Recently Said Ashlyn Harris Has Been ‘Such a Kind Ear’ For Those Opening Up About Their Problems
During an opt-ed for Glamour, Sophia Bush opened up about how she and Ashlyn Harris, whom she met in 2019, started to get close while they were both going through divorces.
“She’d been such a kind ear for those of us who opened up about our problems during a shared weekend of speaking engagements at a fancy conference in Cannes,” Bush explained. “And soon it became clear that she needed our ears too.”
Sophia Bush fully admitted she didn’t expect to find love in the support system Harris provided.
“I don’t know how else to say it other than: I didn’t see it until I saw it. And I think it’s very easy not to see something that’s been in front of your face for a long time when you’d never looked at it as an option and you had never been looked at as an option.”
“What I saw was a friend with her big, happy life. And now I know she thought the same thing about me.”
Ready to share her feelings directly, Bush asked Harris to have a non-friend-group hang out to discuss it. “That meal was four and a half hours long and truly one of the most surreal experiences of my life thus far.”
“In hindsight, maybe it all had to happen slowly and then suddenly all at once. Maybe it was all fated.”
