Shakira was forced to cancel her Sunday concert in Lima after being hospitalized due to an abdominal condition. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer announced on her Instagram and X accounts Sunday afternoon that she is currently hospitalized. According to her doctors, she is not well enough to perform.

“I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience,” she wrote.
According to E! News, the Colombian singer,48, arrived in Peru on Friday evening ahead of her scheduled performances on Sunday and Monday. Peru marks the second destination on her Latin American tour, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, following two successful shows in Brazil last week.
Shakira received a heartfelt reception from her Latin fans, with enthusiastic crowds gathering at airports to welcome her. “Thank you for such an emotional welcome, Lima!” she wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday.
Shakira added that she hopes to recover quickly. “My plan is to perform this show as soon as possible. My team and the promoter are already working on a new date,” she wrote.
“Thank you for understanding,” she concluded. “I love you very much.
Shakira, a mother of two, shared no additional details about her condition.
