According to CNN, the investigators are seeking to bring Diddy’s accusers before a federal grand jury in New York City. Those possible witnesses have already been notified by investigators that they could be asked to testify.
The media outlet further pointed out that bringing in the accusers is significant in the U.S. government’s ongoing investigation into Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Since Nov. 2023, Diddy has been named in eight civil lawsuits. Seven of those lawsuits accusing the Bad Boy Records founder of sexual assault. He was also accused of aiding and abetting. Among those who filed a lawsuit against the rapper was his ex Cassie Ventura. She had sued him for abuse and rape.
Although her lawsuit was settled the day after it was filed, Ventura’s relationship with Diddy recently made headlines once again after the terrifying surveillance video of him beating her at a hotel was released. Despite previously denying Ventura’s claims against him, Diddy apologized for his actions in the video.
A source further told CNN that potential witnesses have not been prepped for testimony, as Homeland Security Investigations agency (HSI) investigators are still gathering evidence and questioning potential sources.
Another source then shared that investigators are being thorough with the information and evidence already gathered. They added that if there was an indictment against Sean “Diddy” Combs, it needed to be “bulletproof.”
Diddy’s lawsuits have dominated headlines over the past six months. Earlier this year, the rapper’s Miami and Los Angeles properties were raided by federal agents.
Regarding the surveillance video, the sources say that investigators have contacted those who found the clip.
