Paulina Lerch, who appeared on the Polish version of Next Top Model, was killed by her husband in an apparent murder-suicide. She was 33 years old at the time of her death.

According to The Mirror, Lerch and her husband Sławomir were discovered dead in their Poznań City, Poland home on Sunday, Sept. 1, after police were contacted to do a welfare check. Lerch’s family said they hadn’t heard from her for over a week before her lifeless body was found. The house was locked from the inside.
During the murder-suicide investigation, police stated they found Paulina Lerch was killed with a gun. Her husband is said to have been discovered with fatal self-inflicted gunshot wounds. A revolver was reportedly found near the bodies.
Months before their deaths, Lerch’s husband, an alleged drug trafficker, was arrested with 30 other individuals after the authorities discovered 60kg of drugs which he had hidden inside a warehouse.
An autopsy is currently being conducted to determine the official cause of death. It will also determine when the shooting occurred. The official cause of death will be released at a later time.

During her first appearance on the show, judges sparked outrage by asking her to be a “dolphin” on the catwalk. She did what the judges asked of her, but did not advance in the competition to be crowned the winner. The judges infamously stated at the time,” This is not Top Orka.”
Eight years after her Next Top Model debut, Lerch returned to the show after losing nearly 50 pounds. Unfortunately, she didn’t advance very far during her second chance on the show.
After her second chance on Next Top Model, Lerch married Slawomir and kept their relationship out of the public eye.
Fans of the Next Top Model contestant quickly turned to social media to pay tribute. “I don’t believe it,” one fan wrote with multiple cry emojis. Another wrote, “I’m going ot miss you so much, you were so lovely. I can’t believe that I won’t see or hear from you anymore, rest in peace, my angel.”
A fellow admirer of the model extended condolences to her loved ones and then wrote, “She was an amazing woman. She infected optimism around her. The giraffe did not bring you happiness. May you rest in peace.”
