Wallen was arrested for three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after an incident at Eric Church’s new Nashville bar. Allegedly, he laughed after tossing the chair from the roof of the bar. The chair fell near two Nashville police officers.
Many fans are disappointed in Wallen’s behavior, while other people are frustrated by his ongoing problematic behavior — and how it often gets brushed under the rug. Individuals took to X (previously Twitter) to share their thoughts.
“What’s it going to take for people to realize that hey, maybe Morgan Wallen isn’t that great a person?” one person stated. “A chair flying off the top of a 6 story building could’ve seriously injured someone but sure, let’s keep giving a 30 year old man passes because he makes music people like…”
“We’ve all been around guys who act like Morgan Wallen at a bar. And we all hate that guy,” another person said.
Morgan Wallen Arrested on Felony Charges
According to a statement by Wallen’s attorney, “At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.”
Court records revealed that Wallen is expected in criminal court on May 3.
This isn’t Wallen’s first offense in recent years. In fact, back in 2016, he was charged with a DUI. However, his case ended up being released.
Wallen also faced backlash for spewing racial slurs while drunk in 2021. He has since released an apology, saying there was “no excuse” for his behavior.
“I’ve never made an excuse. I never will make an excuse,” Wallen told Billboard at the time. “I’ve talked to a lot of people, heard stories [about] things that I would have never thought about because I wasn’t the one going through it.”
“And I think, for me, in my heart I was never that guy that people were portraying me to be, so there was a little bit of like, ‘Damn, I’m kind of actually mad about this a little bit because I know I shouldn’t have said this, but I’m really not that guy.’”
“I put myself in just such a sh-t spot, you know? Like, ‘You really messed up here, guy.’ If I was that guy, then I wouldn’t have cared. I wouldn’t have apologized. I wouldn’t have done any of that if I really was that guy that people were saying about me.”
Due to his ongoing controversies, many fans expressed concern over Wallen and his apparent issues with alcohol.
After the incident on Sunday evening, Wallen went to Davidson County Jail with a bond set at $15,250. He was released at around 3:30 a.m. Monday morning.
