Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in October 2023 and underwent emergency surgery along with two additional procedures.
The daughter of Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan has been documenting her cancer journey through her YouTube channel. She has opened up about her treatment and symptoms, including being in extreme pain and developing memory loss.
In April, Isabella announced her chemotherapy sessions were expected to go from six to four. “I can kind of try and have a summer to feel better,” she explained while “happy tears” flowed. “And I’m so happy because I thought I’d be done at the end of July.”
Isabella then declared, “I was supposed to do six rounds in total. And then I really would just have to go straight back to school. I’m so happy.”
Michael Strahan celebrated Isabella by stating she was going to “crush” her treatment. “I know she’s going through it, but I know that we’re never given more than we can handle,” he added.
Michael Strahan Previously Opened Up About Isabella’s ‘Rough’ Battle With Brain Cancer
Months before Isabella celebrated her final round of chemo, Michael Strahan opened up about his daughter’s rough battle with cancer.
“The last three days have been a little rough because she had a fever that kind of comes and goes,” Strahan explained. “I had to take her to the hospital and thought she’d come home a few hours later… It’s been three days, but hopefully she’ll be home today.”
However, Michael Strahan explained that none of what she was going through was unexpected. “It is tough to see her go through it,” he admitted. “But I know she’s a tough young lady and she’s going to make it through it.”
Speaking also about his daughter’s YouTube channel, Strahan said the outlet has been helped for her to document her journey.
“I think, for her, so many people have reached out and said, ‘I’m glad you’re doing this,’ ‘Thank you for doing this,’ ‘This has really helped us,’” he added. “And all that support that she is getting from people she doesn’t know, on top of people that she does know, has kept her in a very positive space,” he said. “So thank you to everybody.”
