One of this week’s tabloids alleges Michael Douglas‘ cancer has returned and the actor only has months to live. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can correct it.
The 74-year-old actor was diagnosed with stage four tongue cancer in 2010, but he’s since made a full recovery. According to the Globe, however, Douglas is once again being ravaged by the disease. “Michael has dropped a tremendous amount of weight in the last few months,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “He’s incredibly weak and his face is covered in frightening blotches – common signs of cancer treatment.”
The outlet’s alleged insider adds, “He is so gaunt, he almost looks as though he’s already died. Everyone is convinced that his cancer has returned with a vengeance.” The seemingly nonexistent tipster concludes, “His appearance is so frightening, people around him are convinced he may have no more than seven months to live.”
The tabloid’s article, which is based on claims from an anonymous source, is completely false. Gossip Cop reached out to Douglas’ spokesperson, who tells us on the record that the actor is “perfectly fine.” The actor’s rep, who’s qualified to speak on his behalf, further points out that he’s currently shooting the second season of his Netflix series “The Kominsky Method.”
Unfortunately, the Globe has a long history of inflicting celebrities with nonexistent health problems. Just last month, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid for falsely claiming Robert Redford only had months to live because he was suffering from a relapse of childhood polio. In reality, the 82-year-old actor is in good shape and has a number of projects he plans on producing and directing.
Shortly before that, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for making up a story about Russell Crowe “eating himself into the grave.” And prior to that nonsense, we debunked the magazine’s report alleging Barbra Streisand was dying from a compulsive eating disorder. Both the actor and the legendary singer are in perfectly good health.
Meanwhile, when the Globe isn’t busy trying to kill off Douglas, it’s attempting to create nonexistent problems in his marriage. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the publication for falsely claiming Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones were having marriage trouble over the actor’s so-called “crush” on Michelle Pfeiffer. That narrative was totally fabricated and the couple is still happily married. This latest article concerning the actor’s health is more lies from the frequently discredited tabloid.
