“On one hand, you played your entire life with an organization and team,” Jason said. “A lot of people in that building — coaches, friends, teammates that you’ve gone through adversity with — and it really makes you very, very close.”
He then said, “And then, on the other hand, you have your brother, and I’ve always supported you. I’ve always wanted you to win.”
Travis agreed with Jason’s support statement. “And I wanted you to win this game. I thought I made that clear,” Jason replied. To which Travis stated, “You made it clear to me.”
Jason further admitted that he found it difficult to explain supporting Travis and the Eagles.
“It felt like I couldn’t be right. Felt like no matter what I said, some people were gonna skew it and say that I’m rooting for the Eagles,” he noted. “And some people were gonna skew it and say that I was rooting for the Chiefs or Travis. And it sucks.”
Jason Kelce Struggled With His Emotions After His Former Team, The Philadelphia Eagles, Won Super Bowl LIX
In a lengthy post on X (formerly Twitter), Jason Kelce admitted to struggling with his emotions after the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX.
“I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after,” he said. “And I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago. On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about. Many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.”
∫Jason Kelce also praised his former teammate, Jalen Hurts, and coach Nick Sirianni, and the rest of the Eagles for their Super Bowl win.
“They have persevered greatly, answered their critics amazingly,” he pointed out. “And proved themselves to be undoubtedly the best team this season. It is extremely difficult for a team in the NFL to have enough talent, coaching, fortune, and character to win a Super Bowl.”
“The character and swagger of this Eagles team was something truly special to behold,” he added. “A true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is. Well done fellas, well fucking done.”
