In a post on X over the weekend, Erika announced plans to meet with Owens on Monday. “@RealCandaceO and I have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting,” she wrote. “I look forward to a productive conversation. Thank you.”
Owens responded to Erika’s post by writing, “I am very much looking forward to this discussion.”
Owens hit the public spotlight with conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. Although law enforcement has arrested and charged Utah resident Tyler Robinson with the shooting, Owens doesn’t believe that the actual suspect was caught.
“There are lies that are being told, and they need to be slapped down right now,” Owens stated on Sept. 15. She then suggested that, without any evidence, the government could be covering up information concerning the assassination.
Erika Kirk Recently Asked Candace Owens and Others to Stop With the Conspiracy Theories About Her Husband’s Death
Just before announcing her meeting with Candace Owens, Erika Kirk spoke out against the conspiracy theories about her husband’s assassination.
When asked by CBS News’ Bari Weiss about what she would say to Owens and others making the claims, Kirk stated, “Stop. That’s It. That’s all I have to say. Stop.”
Producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, Blake Neff, dismissed Owens’ claims earlier this month. He stated that he and a group of Charlie Kirk’s friends would be discussing the conspiracy theories this week in a livestream.
Owens met Charlie Kirk in 2017 and was hired “on the spot” to work for Turning Point USA. She served as communications director for the right-wing organization until 2019 and remained friends with Kirk until his death.
Following Kirk’s death, Owens spoke out, calling him her best friend and brother.
“We were brother and sister,” she explained. “We were fortified. Our relationship was forged in fire – the fire of politics. I knew him. I knew Charlie. The real Charlie. And Charlie knew the real Candace.”
Owens also headlines when she wasn’t in attendance for Kirk’s memorial service. She claimed she wasn’t invited to speak because others wanted to silence her.
“Like I said, the reason that they are doing this is because they want us to stop investigating the death of Charlie Kirk,” she stated. “I am convinced that this is a full-blown fed operation.”
