17 Actors Who Opted To Use Body Doubles For Famous Scenes

In one of the few scenes where nudity was used for a non-sexual purpose on the HBO show (and even though the talented actress has gone au-naturale in other productions), Headey opted to use a body double for her famous walk of shame scene. Perhaps it was because she was pregnant (slightly) at the time, but we're guessing it had more to do with the actual nature of that very raw and intense scene.

As the adorable but slightly (OK, majorly) emotionally unstable nympho, Fisher opted for a body double during the nude scenes, saying “I feel like if you have a female comic character and then you see her nipples, then she is no longer funny, which is clearly wrong but that was my theory and that’s why I didn’t want to do it."

Apparently producers thought if the body double had blonde hair that would be good enough because Lohan's double looks NOTHING like her. Even more strange was just a year later, Lohan pulled a 180 on her nudity stance and posed for Playboy. Then again, it is Lindsay Lohan so really isn't that strange at all.

Alba didn't use a body double in this racy film, yet she stayed true to her personal convictions concerning no nudity on set. So how'd she do it? In her steamy shower scene she was actually wearing underwear, and allowed the director to digitally remove them after the fact. Now that's tricky.

People were initially surprised to see the sweet, wholesome girl from "Slumdog Millionaire" stripping down in this 3D action flick, but Pinto quickly set the record straight by saying it was a body double, and even claimed the director made that decision before consulting her. She later made up her own mind and did her own nude scenes in the film "Trishna."

Women aren't the only ones in Hollywood who get body doubles. It was revealed that during the nude waterfall scene for the film a body double was used in Costner's place. We know what you're thinking: he did have a bare bottom moment in "Dances With Wolves," yet money rules in Hollywood, and it was apparently cheaper to use a double for the shot.

During her sultry lap-dancing scene, the talented actress admitted to having a body double, stating "It’s definitely a body double, I don’t have that body. What a bum! I wish I had that bum…it was fantastic." We're sure her own body is fantastic, but don't fault her for wanting to keep it to herself.

The scene in question involves the actress clad in a barely-there thong diving into an icy cold lake. And it appears it was the lake that was more of the issue, as Portman is seen in the thong but admitted to having a body double simply because the water was "really, really cold." Whatever you say, your highness.

Sometimes your personal life doesn't match up to your professional life, which is what happened for Farmiga, who gave birth shortly before filming began. Still looking great for someone who just had a child, the actress opted for a body double during the sex scene with George Clooney, saying “The breast milk down both sides – it would have been inappropriate.”

Although appearing nude in other films such as "Alpha Dog" and "The Third Person," Wilde had a little help from Photoshop during her topless scenes in "The Change-Up." Her nip-slip was actually added in post-production, and we have to say special effects have definitely come a long way.

Once again we have a male grace this list, but it seems that again it wasn't up to this actor to go sans pants. For the bare bum shot, a body double was used, which apparently was the choice of the director. Wilson joked, "I don't know how to interpret that." Neither do we.

Unlike his brother Owen, Luke Wilson opted to have a body double in this film, and even handpicked the guy. He thought his own physique wasn't athletic-looking enough for the role. It's ok Luke, we still love you.

Perhaps being a body double isn't the worst way to get your foot in the door in Hollywood. Catherine Bell, who has starred in "JAG" and "Army Wives," actually served as the body double for the silver screen icon in "Death Becomes Her."

Whether it was because she wanted to exercise more modesty now that she was creating a family with Brad Pitt, or the theory that her then excessively thin frame was too bony for the scene, it is no secret that a body double was used for this action film.

Although donning a fat suit for a majority of the film, there were a few scenes without it that Paltrow insisted on having a body double (more of a bottom double). She states the reason for the move was her distaste for her own derriere, saying "I hate it. It's not my favorite part."

Sometimes it's best to keep it in the family. During production of the fourth installment of this sea-faring franchise, Cruz was pregnant and couldn't film all the scenes herself. An easy and effective solution was having her little sister, Monica Cruz, fill in.

The underrated but hilarious TV series featured the gorgeous Mixon in a car scene where she went topless, except it wasn't her without the bra. She has come forward claiming she will never do any nudity, citing the reason that her father could be watching. That's a very valid reason indeed.
