Less than a week after the shocking surveillance video of Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting her at a hotel made headlines, Cassie Ventura is ready to speak out about the terrifying incident.

As previously reported, the video was from March 2016 when Ventura and Combs were staying at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century, Los Angeles. The couple dated on and off from 2007 to 2018.
While out in one of the hotel’s hallways, Combs was seen wearing just a towel around his waist as he grabbed Ventura by the neck and slammed her to the ground near an elevator. He then kicked her numerous times and threw items at her. The hallway assault stopped after someone walked out of the elevator.
Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against Diddy on November 16, 2023, claiming he physically abused and sexually assaulted her throughout their relationship. The lawsuit was settled the day after it was filed.
Although the famed rapped adamantly defended himself for months, claiming that Ventura’s allegations were lies, he ended up publicly apologizing for his actions in the video.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times of your life,” Combs stated in a video on Instagram. “But sometimes you gotta do that. I f—- up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses.”
Diddy also said that his actions against Cassie Ventura in the video were “inexcusable.”
“I take full responsibility for my actions in this video,” he continued. “They’re disgusting. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought professional help.”
Cassie Ventura Says the Healing Journey From Diddy’s Abuse is ‘Neverending’
Speaking out for the first time, Ventura took to Instagram to share her feelings about the video and the abuse she endured at the hands of her ex.
“Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet,” she wrote. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”
Ventura continued to state that domestic violence is the key issue. “It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”
Ventura once again thanked those who have taken the matter seriously. She also had one request. “My only ask is that EVERYONE open your to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in.”
Cassie then said she offers her hand to those who are living in fear and encourages them to reach out to their loved ones. “Don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone.”
She went on to add that her healing journey is never ended, but the support she has is everything to her.
