Lawrence stated that he has recently become aware of some “revelations” about his bandmates. While the lead singer did not specifically say what those revelations were, he did mention that their “actions” interfered with his “values”.
“I have recently become aware of revelations around my bandmates and want to share some thoughts directly with all of you,” Lawrence wrote.
He continued, “I believe in accountability and doing what’s right. Three months ago, I made the decision to move forward without my drummer, and yesterday, I parted ways with my guitarist.”
Prior to Lawrence’s most recent post, the band had made a separate announcement stating that their drummer Ryan would be leaving the band. COIN explained in their post that he would be “stepping away to focus on some personal matters.”
The Band Was Once No. 8 on the Billboard’s Alternative Airplay Chart
COIN formed back in 2012 and have since released five studio albums. After a few years, the band started to make a name for themselves with their hit single “Talk Too Much”. The single even landed them at No. 8 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.
Although the band has gained popularity over the years, their success was not enough to keep them together. Lawrence continued writing in his post that he is “devastated for anyone who has been affected by these actions.”
He added, “Discovering that this space has been compromised by the actions of others is truly heartbreaking. Unfortunately, these developments have led me to the decision that COIN can no longer continue as a band.”
The singer then thanked fans for supporting the Nashville-based band, informing those with tour tickets that they would receive a refund.
Lawrence closed out the post writing, “There’s a lot to figure out about the future, but I know I’m not done making music yet.”
