While on the Zach Sang Show, Grande spoke about the situation and how the media didn’t exactly help to make things easier for her. “We know this about the tabloids, and about the media — am I crazy? Don’t we know this?” she said. “We selectively remember that this is what the tabloids do to people, especially women, based upon if we like the person. We selectively leave space for humanness, for nuance.”
When asked if there’s more she wishes people would know before casting judgment on her, Ariana Grande declared there is “plenty.”
“We don’t have enough time,” Grande noted. “We don’t need to go into any specifics, but, of course, there’s an insatiable frustration, an inexplicable hellish feeling with watching people misunderstand the people you love, and you.”
Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater’s relationship the spotlight days after Grande’s split from ex-husband Dalton Gomez. Slater’s now ex-wife and the mother of his young son, Lilly Jay, also stated Grande is “ the story” behind the former couple’s split. She pointed out that Grande is “not a girl’s girl.”
“My family is just collateral damage,” Jay told Page Six.
Sources also revealed to the media outlet that Jay had been calling every news outlet to get the story out. This was all while acting differently towards her ex-husband behind the scenes. “She’s telling Ethan and others that she only cares about protecting their child,” the insider stated. “She’s rightfully upset because her marriage fell apart, but Ariana and Ethan didn’t do anything wrong.”
The source added that Ethan was trying to take the high road. “[He] hopes he can resolve this situation for the sake of their child.”
Ariana Grande Says Her New Album Will Say ‘Everything and Nothing At the Same Time’ About the Situation
Meanwhile, Ariana Grande revealed that her album Eternal Sunshine “says everything and nothing at the same time” about the ordeal.
“It’s very vague and very specific, all at once,” she pointed out. “It was definitely the most emotional writing process, for sure. When I was writing, it was with no intention for the world to hear it. When I was done, I remembered that people will hear it, and how people can sometimes sensationalize things and assign meaning to certain things.”
Grande pointed out that she “combed through” just to make sure the album is what she intended. “I had some sessions where I was definitely writing more emotionally and more reactively.”
