While on stage at her “Weekends with Adele” Las Vegas residency this Saturday, Feb. 17, the 16-time Grammy winner spoke about the meme. “I know it sounds crazy, but I really don’t like being famous, right?” she explained.
“So obviously, I know I’m sitting courtside at a basketball game, whatever. But Rich [Paul] was working the room and, you know, talking to other players and people. I was fine. I didn’t mind.”

Adele continued to say that she was just at the game looking for Michael Jordan. “So, the people with the camera came over and asked me twice. They were like, ‘Do you mind if we film you? Can we put you on the screen?’”
The singer and songwriter stated that she didn’t want to be on camera. “I just canceled [my] Las Vegas [residency]. I really don’t wanna be [on camera].’ They came back and they filmed me.”
Along with discussing the meme, Adele spoke about the rumors about her lips, which critics said she had filler injections done after losing weight.
“I have naturally big lips…I don’t need filler,” she declared. “The reason I looked like a different person was because I was sulking. Because I was like, ‘These motherf—ers have come back and are filming me against my will.’”
Adele went on to add that she was just very annoyed because she didn’t want to be filmed. “But I guess I was asking [for] it by going.”
Adele Recently Spoke About Volunteering at Her Son’s School
The NBA meme discussion comes less than two months after Adele spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about volunteering at her son’s school.
“I’m thriving a bit,” Adele said about volunteering for her son, Angelo. “Now there are so many things his school does the most, with community vibes, which is fantastic.”
Adele also pointed out that the children that Angelo goes to school with don’t really care about her or her fame. “The kids don’t care. The kids don’t give a flying f— who I am. And I get, not insecure, but I get nervous around loads of adults and strangers that I don’t know. And so making food for school events, it’s my dream.”
Adele went on to add that she ended up making dozens of chicken kebabs for Angelo’s class. “I did it the next day. It went great. I spilled the turmeric everywhere, so it stained my whole kitchen. I made 60 of them.”
