Unable to hold back his curiosity, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson demanded to know who made Mission Impossible Rebecca Ferguson cry on set.
Johnson, who co-starred with Ferguson in Hercules, spoke up after the actress opened up about being bullied on a set by an “idiot” co-star. She claimed that the actor had been “so insecure and angry” because they were unable to get the scenes out.
“I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at,” Ferguson said during her appearance on the Reign With Josh Smith podcast. “And I would cry walking off set.”
Ferguson further pointed out that the co-star had berated her in front of the entire film crew as well. “‘You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What is this?’” she recalled. The actress then said she didn’t have any “safety net” nor did anyone have her back.
Ferguson then remembered standing up to her co-star by telling them to get off the set. “‘I’m going to work towards a tennis ball. I never want to see you again,’” she stated.
The Rock responded to the conversation by tweeting the interview. “Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bull—,” the actor stated on X. “Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman. I’d like to find out who did this.”
X users were relieved by the post in hopes that it wasn’t The Rock that Ferguson was referring to. “Thanks for tweeting this,” one X user declared. “And helping us narrow it down.”
However, another X user stated, “This tweet is suspicious.”
The Rock’s ‘Hercules’ Costar Rebecca Ferguson Was ‘Scared’ About Confronting Difficult Costar
While continuing to discuss her very difficult and unnamed counterpart, The Rock’s Hercules co-star Rebecca Ferguson claimed that she was terrified to speak out.
“I remember the producers came up and said, ‘You can’t do this to No. 1. We have to let this person be on set,’” she recalled after telling the co-star to leave. “And I said, ‘The person can turn around and I can act to the back of the head.’ And I did. I was so scared. I feel it now when I’m saying it.”
Ferguson then said that she took her frustration to the director. “[They said], You’re right. I am not taking care of everyone else. I’m trying to fluff this person because it’s so unstable,’” she remembered. “It was great from that moment, but it took so long for me to get to that.”
The situation was an eye-opening experience for Ferguson. “From that moment, I have never let myself get to a point where I’ve got home and gone, ‘Why did that happen?’”
