His management confirmed his death in an April 2 statement to Variety Australia, saying the 35-year-old died on March 30.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Konrad Bien-Stephen,” the statement read. “We ask that you respect the privacy of their family during this incredibly difficult time.”
The statement confirmed that “no further information will be shared” regarding the Bachelorette star’s death, adding, “Our thoughts are with all who loved him.”

Bien-Stephen’s former girlfriend, Abbie Chatfield, also confirmed his death in a statement on her Instagram Stories, according to TMZ. She thanked followers for their support over the last few days.
“Obviously, this is an incredibly difficult and strange time for me, and I am devastated for Konrad, his friends, and his family. And I am heartbroken too. Though we haven’t spoken for years, this is still incredibly difficult,” Chatfield wrote.
“Konrad was such a kind man and sweet person to everyone. A very caring man who deserved to live a very, very long life. I am so heartbroken that he doesn’t get to do that.”
“I know that Konrad would want people to share love and kindness,” Chatfield added. “And if you do anything today, please check in on your mates, do an act of kindness, talk to a friend. Anything.”
Bien-Stephen appeared on season 7 of The Bachelorette Australia in 2021, where he placed third while competing for Brooke Blurton’s affection. He later dated Chatfield and competed on The Challenge Australia in 2022. Following his split from Chatfield, he was reportedly in a relationship with singer Thelma Plum.
