Passengers were also seen swiftly descending the plane’s inflatable slide to exit the aircraft. Flames appeared to emanate from the plane’s left engine. This prompted firefighters to deploy multiple hoses in an effort to extinguish the fire
According to Turkey Today, even though the fire rapidly spread from the engine, there have been no reported injuries. “All passengers were evacuated without injury, and thankfully, no one was harmed,” Antalya Governor’s Office Deputy Suat Seyitoglu explained to the outlet.
Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire on the plane that departed from Russia’s Sochi International Airport. However, the incident coincided with a severe weather alert from the Turkish State Meteorological Service. They warned of heavy storms in the area.

Meanwhile, some denizens of X (formerly Twitter) took issue with the fleeing passengers.
“In case of an evacuation you should leave your bags behind !!!!!!!! Oh lord, after I saw the passengers rolling their bags, I will not think about the chaos in the plane. This behavior kill[s] people !” one irate X user wrote.
“Anyone who takes their hand luggage with them in an emergency evacuation should be banned from flying for life,” another X user agreed.
“Leave the luggage, people in the back might die because you needed your bag,” a third person advised.
