Following the tragic news that two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray passed away at the age of 30, Paige Spiranac paid tribute to the professional golfer.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Paige Spiranac reshared the news and wrote about knowing Grayson Murray in her early professional golf years.
“I’ve known Grayson since our junior golf days and I’ll never forget how he always went out of his way to congratulate me on accomplishments whether big or small,” she wrote. “He had always been incredibly kind to me.”
She added, “Unbelievably sad and my prayers go out to his friends and family.”
Murray passed away in the early hours of Saturday, May 25, after he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge. He had told his playing partners that he wasn’t feeling well.
The professional golfer’s parents released a statement confirming that he died by suicide.
“We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone,” the statement reads. “It’s surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It’s a nightmare.”
Grayson Murray’s parents also shared that they had so many questions but no answers. Was Grayson Loved? The answer is yes. By us, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all of his extended family. By his friends, by his fellow players and – it seems – by many of you who are reading this. He was loved and he will be missed.”
Murray’s parents then stated, “We would like to thank the PGA Tour and the entire world of golf for the outpouring of support. Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now.”
Grayson Murray Was Open About His Struggles With Depression, Alcohol Issues
Earlier this year, Grayson Murray opened up about his past struggles with depression and alcohol addiction.
Murray had stated the support from his fiancée, Christiana Ritchie had helped him by offering unconditional love and support.
“When you get tired of fighting, let someone else fight for you,” he said at the time. “I hope everyone at home watching can get a little inspiration from it. If I can just help one person, that’s all it takes. I knew today was not going to change my life, but it did change my career, and I’m excited.”
Grayson Murray then spoke about. the resurgence in his golfing career. “Six years is a long drought, far longer than I wanted,” he added. “Sometimes your highs are high out here and your lows are low. It’s a very humbling sport. I’ve been working really hard, and this is a testament to the hard work.”
