John Cena Sounds Off on Iconic WWE Feud
WWE has become one of the most consumed forms of sports entertainment. Several goliaths have clashed in the WWE ring. But perhaps the most noted beef was between John Cena and The Rock.
Things got particularly heated when Cena called out The Rock for leaving the WWE to pursue a career as a movie star. He also questioned how much he loved the company. It is a decision he has come to regret now.
“Oh my god, yeah. To me, it was [like], ‘I’m going to jab this guy because I have nothing to lose. I have all the leverage… My angle came from the fact that he was openly saying, ‘I love the WWE.’ And I was like, ‘Man if you love it, why aren’t you here?’ What a stupid thing [of me] to say. I’m so sorry because he had a lot to lose,” Cena said.
The WWE Superstar went on to explain that now that he has transitioned to Hollywood, he now understands things from the Rock’s perspective.
“I can sit across from you now and say I love the WWE, but SmackDown is in two days and I’m not going to be there,” he added “And now I have to eat a bunch of s–– and say, ‘F––, I was wrong, I’m sorry.’”
NBA Star Sounds Off On Fighting The Rock
NBA center Dwight Howard remains a free agent and has proven to be a serviceable veteran on a championship roster. He did so during his second stint with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 when they won the title inside of the Disney Bubble.
But despite not being signed, Howard has remained busy in his spare time. He attended a WWE tryout in Nashville, Tennessee in 2022. During an Instagram live session, he talked about potentially fighting the Rock.
“That would be crazy, I was in the ring & both of us looking at each other. You know how The Rock be doing…I think I got that part down,” Howard said via Landon Buford.
