It’s been roughly a month since Blanchard left Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe, Missouri. The 32-year-old spent over eight years behind bars for helping her ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, orchestrate the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
In the short time that Blanchard has been free, she’s released a book and a docuseries, adopted a puppy, went on a media tour, become a multi-millionaire, and more. Most recently, Ricky Starks gave her the VIP treatment at a pro wrestling event in New Orleans, and she happily attended.
Following the show, she posted some highlights on her Instagram page and thanked Starks for the invite.
“Thank you Ricky Stark and AEW Dynamite for inviting us to [an] amazing show tonight” she captioned. “We had a great time!”
While Gypsy Rose Blanchard has a legion of fans, she also seems to have an equal amount of critics. And they’re airing their frustrations about her in her comments.
“Please drop this ‘make a wish’ thing you are doing,” one person wrote. “It’s getting really old. Yes, you’re out of jail but come on. Do something meaningful for once and move on with your life. I’m glad Taylor Swift didn’t grant you your ‘make a wish’ request. Grow up, get a job, and stop asking for favors from famous people.”
“Tired of seeing her everywhere,” another person griped. “She’s just milking the f**k outta this story.”
“This is so dumb man,” added another. “All of this bc she killed her mom. this is f**ked up.”
Fans Ask ‘Haters’ to Give Gypsy Rose Blanchard ‘Some Respect’
Gypsy Rose Blanchard earned her following during her 2016 criminal trial where she was convicted of second-degree murder. Blanchard was allegedly a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which is a psychological condition that leads caretakers to take extreme and dangerous measures to make children appear ill.
Dee Dee made friends, family, and doctors believe that her daughter was constantly sick was various illnesses. Some of the lies even caused Blanchard to undergo unnecessary and painful surgeries. Blanchard claims she helped kill her mother to escape the abuse. Some people believe she had no choice.
“How about some of you haters give the woman some respect,” said one of her fans. “She didn’t ask to be born into a life where the only person who [is] supposed to love you and protect you let you down. As far as I can see she’s done her time. If she’s trying to help others she’s trying to rewrite her mother’s wrongs so give her a break.”
