During the debut episode of her new show Busy This Week, Philipps spoke about giving Birdie one of the vintage dresses she wore back in her younger days.
“I was not expecting this to happen, but we went to the Olivia Rodrigo concert, and Birdie wore a Betsy Johnson dress of mine from the ‘90s,” Busy Philipps explained. She then showed off the adorable dress that her 15-year-old daughter wore. “There were so many, like, publications that printed this and people were so thrilled by this, but the ‘90s are back, man.”
Philipps’ co-host Caisse St. Onge also spoke about the vintage dress and fashion. “I think people are so excited that ’90s style is back.”
As the duo continued to discuss the various ‘90s fashion trends, they both agreed that low-rise jeans shouldn’t be making a return. “They’re better left in the past,” St. Onge declared. “I feel like that part of me is a secret.”
Busy This Week is premiering Wednesday, May 8, at 10 p.m. ET on QVC+. Among those who will appear in the episode are Busy Philipps’ Girls5Eva castmates Sara Bareilles, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Paula Pell.
Busy Philipps Talks Doing Another Late Night Talk Show Less Than Five Years After ‘Busy Tonight’ Ended
Busy This Week is also premiering less than five years after Philipps’ talk show Busy Tonight ended.
Philipps recently spoke to PEOPLE about her return to late-night television and why she chose to produce the new show with her podcast co-host, Caissie St. Onge. “It was very much in the front of my brain when Busy Tonight was canceled,” Busy said. She also praised QVC+ for building out a set in a New York City loft. “They really killed it.”
Busy Philipps then said she was excited about her Girls5Eva castmates will be the show’s first guests. “I really love those girls, and they’ve been so supportive of me,” she explained. “I will show up for anything that any of them ask or ever need, whether it’s professional or personal. We really do have such a special bond. When we were talking about who was going to be the possible first guest on the show, I was like, ‘Well, it’s got to be the girls. We have to do all of them.’”
Along with discussing Birdie’s ‘90s fashion taste, Busy will also be discussing the things she’s learning while parenting Birdie and her sister Cricket.
“They’re teaching me the great news about life, which is that you get a fresh chance every minute of every day,” she said. “And if you mess something up, it’s okay to admit that you’ve messed something up and to start clean,” she stated. “It’s like what I try to impart to them as well.”
She added she has taught her daughters to make mistakes, forgive one another, move on, and try to do better.
