Andy Cohen insists he’s never swam in a deep sea of blankets with long-time buddy and Taylor Swift cast off, John Mayer.
The TV host 55, put to rest rumors that he and the “Your Body is a Wonderland” crooner, 46 are gentlemen on the streets but freaks in the sheets.
“Let them speculate! I honestly love John Mayer, and he loves me,” Cohen explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “But because we’re so affectionate toward each other, people don’t know what box to put that in.”
Although that statement borders on a humble brag implying they actually are lovers of a sort, the Bravo star eventually put a fork in the rumor.
“They assume we’re sleeping with each other, which we are most definitely not,” Cohen insisted, perhaps a bit too strongly.
Andy Cohen and John Mayer’s Bromance Runs Deep
Fans have been playfully speculating if John Mayer and Andy Cohen‘s bromance was ever on another level, given their years of close and cuddly camaraderie.
Cohen marked the singer’s 40th birthday by joining him on a group trip to Brazil. Similarly, Mayer was present at Cohen’s 2019 baby shower and even performed a serenade for Cohen’s 50th birthday. Plus, Mayer stole the spotlight with his speech at Cohen’s Hollywood Walk of Fame party in February 2022.
“He’s a Madonna stan and a Deadhead. He’s an A-lister, who parties like a B-lister, with the free spirit of a C-lister,” Mayer quipped during his speech at the ceremony. “I love Andy more than I can tell you. He’s a brilliant human being, a hilarious cohort, a loving son and brother — and more recently he’s become a proud, engaged and deeply devoted father.”
Cohen explained to The Hollywood Reporter why he found Mayer’s speech especially moving.
“When he inducted me into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, John Mayer said that I unwittingly have become a gay best friend to people who never had a gay best friend. That really moved me.”
Cohen continued, “There’s a lot of moms who have come up to me at book signings and say, ‘I watched your show for years with my son, who then wound up coming out of the closet, and having you meant a lot to us'”.

In fairness, rumors about Andy and John aren’t just from their extremely friendly public appearances. In a June appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Cohen revealed that he and Mayer shared a deep affection, confessing that they were “in love with each other.”
However, even then, he stressed they weren’t knocking boots. Still, there’s a distinction between “we love each other’ and “we are IN LOVE with each other.”
