Nearly three months after Enchanting was found dead at the age of 26, the rapper’s cause of death has been revealed.

According to TMZ, Enchanting’s official cause of death was an accidental overdose. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Officer further confirmed to the media outlet that the rapper overdosed on synthetic opioid oxycodone. She also had depressant drugs, benzodiazepines, which includes medications Valium and Xanax, in her system.
In a previous statement to The Shade Room, a representative from Enchanting’s management team stated she was experiencing withdrawal symptoms and had overdosed. “She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried,” the rep told the outlet.
Her family also issued a statement. “We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our sweet and beloved daughter,” the statement reads, per XXL. “She was so much to so many but she was our daughter. She lived her life with grace and blessed so many with friendship, laughter and love. We also appreciate everyone’s respect of our family’s privacy as we continue to navigate through this difficult loss. The cause of death has not yet been determined. Thanks again. The Family of Enchanting Larry.”
Enchanting Had Spoken About the Big Risks of Drug Use One Year Before Her Death
During a 2023 appearance on the Cigar Talk podcast, Enchanting spoke about the risks of drug use.
“You have to be realistic. I understand that people do whatever they do,” she explained at the time, “if they feel like they’re going through pain or they just going through something, they want to feel better. But it’s a big risk. Like, you could take one pill and literally die like, immediately.”
Despite her struggles with drug use, Enchanting’s music career was really starting to pick up. It was further revealed that Enchanting, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, was set to be the “First Lady” of fellow rapper Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records just before her unexpected death.
Gucci Mane had released a statement about Enchanting’s death, stating he was devastated. “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting 😢 💔,” he wrote alongside a photo of Enchanting on his Instagram.
Enchanting signed with Gucci Mane in 2020. During her career, she collaborated with various artists, including Pool Shiesty, Foogiano, and the late Big Starr.
Enchanting also worked with Boogotti Kasino, who paid tribute to her on Instagram.
