In a recent TikTok video, Italian model Eugenio Casnighi stated he was fired from the Met Gala just days before the 2024 event is taking place. While sharing a series of photos featuring him at last year’s celebrity-filled event, Casnighi said, “Remember me? So I’ve never talked about this because I was under NDA. Funny enough, they fired me so I can say whatever I want now.”

The model revealed he had worked as a model and greeter at the Met Gala for the past two years. He was supposed to work this year’s red carpet once again. However, there’s been a change of plans and he was fired from the modeling gig.
“They fired me because I went viral last year,” he claimed. “So basically they said, ‘You made it about yourself, so we can’t have you work there anymore, so I’m sorry.”
Met Gala Model Says He Was Fired Over Appearing in Kylie Jenner’s Event Photos
While continuing to discuss his firing, Eugenio Casnighi did a step-by-step about what made him go viral last year and why he’s no longer working this year’s big event.
He said he was going to be with Kylie Jenner at the Met Gala all night. He was to assist her with anything she needed. However, he appeared in some of Jenner’s photos, including one where he was helping her up the Met’s steps by lifting the back of her dress a little.
“They literally told me, ‘We picked you because we like you more than other people to be with this celebrity,’” he said. “But when people took pictures of the actual celebrity, not me, of the actual celebrity like Kylie Jenner and I was next to her, of course, I ended up in the picture and they blamed me.”
Proving this wasn’t just speculation on his part, the model shared some emails. It showed he was hired for the annual fundraiser. He was also forbidden from posting any content from the Met Gala after the fact. That’s including content that he was appearing in it.
In another video, the model shared some behind-the-scenes details. Among the details were who was nice and who was not so nice.
Casnighi said Kylie Jenner was nice as well as Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, and Blake Lively. He pointed out that Doja Cat and Bad Bunny weren’t that nice.
