She wrote, “Not to make a parenthood episode out of it or anything but!!! Mother’s Day looking a little different this year! 🤰🏼 can’t wait to meet you, huge baby kicking my insides to filth! #ruveal.”
Whitman starred as Amber Holt for six seasons on Parenthood. The show followed the joys and challenges of being a parent. Graham played her mother Sarah on the show, and Heizer played her brother Drew on the show. It’s great to see that they stayed connected after all these years.
Fans praised and congratulated Whitman. One fan detailed how Whitman has inspired her own life. They wrote, “I remember when you shared your endometriosis battle and it inspired me so much that I finally reached out and got my own endometriosis diagnose, because of you. now, seeing this picture, on mother’s day of all days. I’m SO happy for you, Mae. I hope you have the calmest and most beautiful pregnancy and delivery. Congratulations, mama.”
Another wrote, “I am so excited for you and for this lucky lucky child!!” Yet another wrote, “Omfg! If this baby isn’t named Zeke I will riot.”
Mae Whitman On ‘Parenthood’
Fans will remember that Whitman’s character Amber got pregnant in the final season of the show. In a 2015 interview with People, Whitman said the two shared a lot of characteristics.
She said, “I think we’re similar in a lot of ways. I think we both have the tendency to doubt ourselves, and I think we both feel scattered and stressed quite easily, but I also think we have a real love for life and experiences and our families.”
At the time, Whitman said that she would really miss the show. She said, “Everything. Seeing everyone in the cast and the crew every day, learning about how to be a professional and how to be more creative and respectful and inspired from everyone around me, and telling stories I really felt like a big part of and believed in with my whole heart.”
However, she planned to stay in contact with her castmates and apparently she stuck with that. She said, “I mean I see Miles every day because the little brat lives with me. And I see Lauren all the time because she’s my best friend, and Dax constantly because I’m obsessed with him and his family. Pretty much with everyone, I plan on not letting too much time go by without seeing them.”
