Just one month after Justin Baldoni’s back-and-forth legal situation with Blake Lively began, the It Ends With Us director’s wife, Emily, broke her silence. In her recent Instagram post, Emily shared a photo of her, Justin, and their two children near a beach while celebrating the filmmaker/actor’s 41st birthday.

“Happy birthday my love,” she captioned the post. “Celebrating the man, husband, and father that you are. I’d choose you again and again.”
Fans quickly took to the post to praise Justin and Emily for their steadfast marriage.
“He’s so lucky to have you by his side, Emily,” one fan wrote. “You both are so special.”
Another fan added, “We choose him again and again as well.”
The sweet birthday post comes days after Justin Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Blake Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane for civil extortion, defamation, false light, invasion of privacy, breach of implied covenant of good faith, and fair dealing.
It also lists intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Baldoni, producer Jamey Health, publicist Jennifer Abel, and crisis publicist Melissa Nathan.
In late December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni and his associates. She alleged sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign led by Baldoni.
Justin Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, described the lawsuit as a “legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence.” It also details Blake Lively and her team’s “duplicitous” attempt to destroy the It Ends With Us actor/director.
Baldoni is suing for $400 million. He has also filed a lawsuit against the New York Times for alleged libel over its coverage of Lively’s lawsuit.
Blake Lively’s Legal Team Accuses Justin Baldoni’s Lawyer of Continuing a Smear Campaign Against Her, Requests Gag Order Against Him
Meanwhile, Blake Lively’s legal team has requested a gag order against Justin Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman. They claim he is continuing a smear campaign against the actress.
In a letter motion to Judge Lewis J. Liman in the Southern District of New York and obtained by PEOPLE Lively’s lawyers stated that “virtually every day since” she filed her lawsuit on Dec. 20, Freedom has given television interviews, appeared on podcasts, and issued inflammatory statements. He was also accused of leaking information, including “documents as banal as document preservation demands to third parties,” to the Hollywood press and tabloids.
“As Ms. Lively’s counsel have attempted, repeatedly, to caution Mr. Freedman, federal litigation must be conducted in court,” the letter reads. “And according to the relevant rules of professional conduct. His conduct threatens to, and will, materially prejudice both the Lively Case and the Wayfarer Case by tainting the jury pool, because his statements are deliberately aimed at undermining the ‘character, credibility, [and] reputation’ of numerous relevant parties.”
Justin Baldoni’s lawyers sent a letter of their own, requesting that the judge deny the gag order. They called the request an “intimidation tactic.”
